We drove back to Julie's house and got packed for the trip to southern Colorado. A big storm was supposed to come through starting in the morning rush hour, so we pulled together winter travel gear (blankets, matches, flashlights, water, and food). The story of the Jay Kim family was fresh on my mind and I wanted to have food if we got stuck.
Jim and I returned the rental car early, since it was a sedan with bald tires. We had decided to take Jim's 4WD truck and Julie's Highlander to Pagosa. We watched the weather forecast all night and decided to get up early on Wednesday to beat the storm.
We had such a whirlwind of activity in Boulder. Jim and Julie had to work all week, we were just so ready to get to Pagosa to relax and do nothing. We were determined to get there and not be stuck in Denver for Christmas.

Eliot and Miles moved from Boulder, CO to Delft, The Netherlands for the summer. Traveling from this old village, where will their adventures take the boys with their mommy (and daddy) for a guide?
