We also had a couple of opportunities to catch up and hang out with our playgroup friends. Jonna bravely hosted a gingerbread decorating party using graham crackers, icing and candy. The houses turned out so wonderfully. The little ones just enjoyed playing with the toys. They didn't even seem to know there was candy on the table! Eliot slept through this party still trying to get caught up on sleep.
Meridith hosted a family potlock, so we could have a chance to visit with everyone before we left. We brought 4 kinds of boerenkaas (farmer's cheese) to share. We had a nice and relaxing time. The kids were not sure about all the "new faces"; we've been gone for 7 months. It was great seeing everyone, reminding me how much we will enjoy being back home.
