I left Miles at home with Jim (thank goodness) and grabbed Eliot's raingear. It rained all the way there, though it wasn't horizontal like it had been earlier in the morning. Eliot's teachers had bundled his artwork from the Sinterklaas season and we put it in some plastic bags. He said his good-byes to Mary and Edith (we'd miss 2 weeks of school while gone on our holiday). He said good-bye to his friend Jason, who just bawled. He was so upset Eliot would be leaving for 4 weeks. It was so sad.
Eliot and I put on our gear and headed home on the bike. It was raining so hard. Like my ride to school, I couldn't even see because the rain was hitting
right in my eyes. By the time we got to the building we were laughing because it was so hideous out - cold and rain, a fantastic combination. We were a sight. I was drenched; luckily, Eliot was just cold since his raingear works properly. Clearly, I need a new shell (check out my we sleeves) and some rainpants! It's winter in Holland, remember.
