Sinterklaas is coming. Wait a minute - two Piets are bringing Sinterklaas in a ... shopping cart. Yes, a shopping cart. Miles and I were giggling; it was so fun and goofy. Miles kept saying cart. I said, this is funny. He said "cart, Piet." I am still cracking up, even the next day.
The Pieten quickly brought Sinterklaas around in the front of the children and ungracefully pulled him out of the cart. Jason's mom grabbed Miles and took him over to see Sinterklaas. He was not scared - just wide-eyed. Sint and his helpers then made their way through the crowd and toward the school. At nearly 9:00, it was still dawn with the overcast skies. Miles and I watched as they all went inside and then biked home.
