Sinterklaas came to our house last night and brought toys and chocolate. Miles was so cute - he had been up nearly 1.5 hours snuggling with me on the couch. Finally, he noticed the gifts and grabbed my hand to walk me over to the packages. He said "big." Eliot woke up about then, and the everyone checked out their presents (except Jim who was still in bed). Eliot got a construction set for building scooters and flying machines. Miles was more interested in Eliot's gift (as always) than his bead-and-wire plaything (like those you always see in doctor offices). Jim got a 6-pack of Toblerone - YUM. I got a Sinterklaasje book.

By 11:30, I jumped on my bike to go to the Delftse Pauw delftware factory and showroom in northwest Delft. It was just starting to rain when I got to the windmill. I was looking for a Christmas present. I bought a nice Delft Blue bowl for myself with birthday money and a pretty polychrome Christmas ornament. I made sure my purchases were secure before braving the wind and the rain on my ride home. I was glad to be back home in the warmth.

Jim took off for London in the evening for a short business trip; he'll be home Tuesday morning. The boys and I cooked dinner, and they fell asleep early (relatively!).
