Sinterklaas Journaal
On Thursday, the Huispiet was still trying to get a headcount of the Pieten. This time he was counting photos and counted 460,000, but he discovered that there are multiple pictures for each Piet and he had to start over. The Hoofdpiet asked Dieuwertje Blok (the anchor) if she could help him recover all the lists, now that the computer has been lost in a coffee spill.Friday, Trompetpiet was still working on his notes and trumpet playing. Sinterklaas retreieved the big book in Sesamstraat (Rick, Dieuwerje are on Sesamstraat). It was found under a table there. Hoofdpiet was quite concerned that the book was still empty, but Sinterklaas said all the lists are there. The action group Sint Must Remain was working on a plan to try and keep Sinterklaas in Holland always.
Tonight is the day before Sinterklaas Pakjesavond (packages evening). The action group stole the steam boat of Sinterklaas, so that he cannot return to Spain with the Pieten. But the Trompetpiet was on the boat practicing his notes (he has gotten quite good). Since the Piets did not know where the boat was, the band started playing Zie Ginds Komt de Stoomboot. By change they wandered by the boat and heard Trompetpiet. He was coming out of the smoke stack. They rescued him and now know where the boat is. Heer Ernst (the leader of the action group) showed up at the Grote Piet house to tell Sinterklaas that he had his boat and the Trompetpiet and that he cannot go back to Spain. Mr. Ernst did not know that Trompetpiet had been rescued and was already back at the Grote Piet Huis. Sinterklaas asked Mr. Ernst if he would like to go back to Spain with him when he leaves. That was the finale - everyone enjoyed pepernoten and sang Sinterklaasliedjes. Sinterklaas will be too busy tomorrow to be one the show and then he heads home to Spain.
