So it is officially still dark at 8:25 in the morning. Eliot was quite excited for school today. Sinterklaas is coming to visit. Miles on the other hand was not quite sure of the whole deal. We biked to school, since it was not raining. The wind was so strong that I wasn't sure we'd make it. I think a few times I was almost standing still. My light generator did not make my job any easier!

The school doors were closed until right before 8:30. It was fun seeing all the children in their Piet costumes and hats (I didn't even think to bring ours). Once we got inside, the children were all very excited. Eliot was not so sure about it anymore, but I told him to stick near Lucien if he got nervous. Miles and I went outside for the big arrival (Jason's mom had told us we should stay and watch because it is always funny). Miles liked just swinging on the monkey bars.

About 8:45, the students came out to meet Sinterklaas. Eliot and Jason walked out of the school hand-in-hand. They were so cute (my camera does poorly in low light, so I missed the best pictures this morning). Jason was in his Piet costume, and Eliot in his Piet hat that he made at school. Then Eliot saw us and ran over to say hello. The children all sang songs and jumped around waiting for Sinterklaas to arrive. Eliot's class and the other group 1-2 were up front. Lucien is in the red coat, and Jason is in the green and purple Piet costume.

All the sudden, the children began to jump and scream.
