Whitney's Birthday

Today was my birthday. After a nice breakfast, I opened my presents - a nice spinning top that lights up as it spins from Eliot and Grandpa (because everyone likes a top) and a chicken timer from Jim. I requested to go out for lunch to Leonidas. Miles fell asleep on the way. We had a nice meal of soup and sandwiches. Afterwards, Jim took me out shopping for my other present - a pair of boots! Eliot was very helpful in picking styles!

Everyone wears boots here. High boots, low boots, high-heeled, cowboy, tucked in pants or outside or with short pants even in the winter, black or brown. These are my new boots - nice Italian leather with brown stitching. I'm pretty happy with them. Not sure how often I'll wear with my mommy wardrobe or biking to school.
