We walked up the last 100+ steps to the top level. The spiral stairwell got tighter and tighter as we went up. With no windows and very tight spaces, I was definitely feeling claustrophobic, though I don't normally have those tendencies. When we ran into other people on the stairs, you had to hold onto the railing and step over their step with them huddled against the wall. I won't need to go up again until the spring - that is for sure! The view was breathtaking - on top of the very flat world below. We could see Rotterdam's skyscrapers and Erasmusbrug, as well as Den Haag's city center.

Views from the top:
Southwest - Stadhuis and Gemeente (round circular bulding)
Straight down to Markt
Southeast - Maria van Jessekerk and Rotterdam skyscrapers in background

Northwest - Den Haag
