Mom and I got up early and were at the antique market by 8:30. We were to catch the 9:58 train to Amsterdam, so we needed to get there early. It was pleasant, uncrowded and the vendors were very friendly. I guess they figured most people out this early were there to shop. This visit to the market was the first time I've really looked at the things for sale. Usually, I am so worried about one of the boys running into the canal or breaking something that I don't really get to shop. There are a lot of cool things - many old kitchen and china items, toys, and pictures. Mom bought me some neat Dutch tins for our Boulder kitchen and some knife holders. I found a great 1950s tow truck for Miles. The market is about to shut down for the winter, but I hope to get another opportunity to shop for keepsakes and interesting Dutch items before we leave.
