Jim had picked up my parents from the airport while Eliot and I were at school. He and Navid had business meetings in the afternoon, so they left at noon. After hugs and kisses with Grammy & Pop, we ventured toward the market. This week it was setup along Westvest and Phoenixstraat because of the carnival in the square. We bought some decorative gourds and Eliot some colorful string (laces). One booth had all kinds of colorful sewing supplies, including these beautiful buttons. Unlike most market days, the booths were setup in one long line, so we got to walk past all the vendors there that day. I was surprised at the variety of products for sale.

After wandering around Delft a bit, we stopped at the Wijnhaven cafe for a beer and "a fanta." Miles took his nap and Eliot showed off his new strings. It was quite warm for September.

Afterwards we walked over to the carnival. I bought some sole fillets for dinner and we picked out some beautiful flowers. Eliot and Grammy bought a most unusual bunch of flowers.
