Dog Poop - One of the more disgusting observations here in Holland is that people let their dogs poop anywhere, even inside the flower auction along the tourists walkway, and they don't pick it up. I ended up picking this pile up and putting it in a trash can right on the wall so Miles and Eliot didn't step in it. You have to watch everywhere you walk. Certainly, in the city there's not a lot of green areas; it's mainly cobblestones, bricks and a little sand and dirt around trees. None of this explains why the dog owners don't pick up the poop. I suppose it's the same mentality that allows people to throw their cigarette butts on the ground. The few parks that do exist are covered in dog poop, so much so that you can't take your kids to play there. Only the dog-prohibited parks (kids parks) are safe.
