For dinner, we took mom and dad to the Pannekueken restaurant. It was nice weather, so we were able to sit out on the barge. While eating, we heard singing from down the street. A few minutes later the, a line of fraternity members walks by in full uniform singing beautifully. They walked to their clubhouse a few doors down. Taking a picture of the group, they caused a bit of a traffic jam and the police across the canal motioned them to move out of the way. It looked like the new pledges were at the back. Almost as quickly as they came and went, the crowd dissipated - the pledges into the house and the members on their merry way.

After dinner we headed to the Carnival. Eliot and Miles rode the smallest kids ride first in the big truck. This big-kids ride like a hammer, except the ends spin around was enough to make you quesy just looking at it. The ride overall was quite a contrast with the old Stadhuis in the background. The Carnival was loud with music blaring, sounds from game booths, and people screaming on the rides. There were bumper cars and another spinning big kids ride that Jim tried to get me on. The whole carnival scene was a little strange in the historic Markt, but it showed that Delft is a modern city.
Eliot and Miles rode the bigger ride for little ones. Miles was brave enough to ride in the Mack truck all by himself (it had high sides at least). This ride went up a hill one level and did a circle on each side. Eliot would have never ventured on such a ride at age 2. Eliot was very happy to ride in the "red, green and yellowish-orange seahorse car."
