The last day of Summer was a beauty here in Delft - 78 deg and sunny! We asked Gina and Merrick to join us at the Waterspeeltuin. The playground closes in less than 2 weeks, and we just had to take advantage of this awesome weather. September has been unseasonable hot this year. It was a glorious last day of Summer.

Merrick, Miles and Eliot had a great time playing on everything. They swung on the tire swing, rode the merry-go-round, played with the water pump, and slid down the slides. Most of all, Miles and Eliot just liked playing in the sand and the water. Eliot wore his boots again, while Miles was happy in bare feet. The water was freezing, but they didn't seem to mind. Miles kept his two favorite tools close at hand (his shovels). We biked home around 2:00.

That night, Jim headed out to a local pub to join the Delftians, a local expat group, for a beer or two. He met some interesting people, and it was good for him to get out for some adult conversation. The boys went to bed early (school night), while I managed to go from sleepy to wide awake. I went to bed when Jim came home at midnight.
