Groningen

We met over at the Engels after breakfast. Erik had come over to the hotel to make sure we navigated the neighborhood successfully. He had suggested we drive to the IKEA and then take the city bus into the center. It was easier for parking and the bus was only 2 Euro for everyone. That's what we did. We headed straight for an exciting restaurant: 't Pannekoekenschip Groningen - a pancake ship.

We were so glad to be inside. It was amazingly cold today - probably 30 deg F. With the cold wind though, I am sure it was 15 to 20 with windchill. The boys were as bundled as we could be. I layered, but we were pretty miserable outside. Mom borrowed a jacket from Jeanne and was a little more comfortable.

The ship had a very nice playroom that the boys played in. Miles, Eliot and Jasper all wanted to be on the boat at the same time. We had pancakes, hot chocolate, and coffee or tea. Miles and Jasper chose the clown pancake with a red foam nose, and Eliot got a pirate patch with his. All had lots of powdered sugar. This place was really geared toward kids. Fun stuff.
