After our lunch, we walked around Groningen and did some shopping. Erik took us to an interesting store that sold all kinds of interesting pottery, glassware and even beautiful spices. The Saturday market was in full swing at the Vismarkt. We saw many of the old historic buildings in the center. This gorgeous building was the Goud Kantoor (gold office) built in 1635. I really liked the look of this newspaper house (at least that's what I think it was). Erik took us to a good number of antique stores, but mom never found the knife holders and salt and pepper shakers she was looking for.
On our way back to the Grote Markt, we caught this shot of the Martinikerk. It was so cold that we were all ready to head back to some warmth. After catching the bus back to IKEA, we drove toward Roden. Mom and I headed to the hotel to take a rest before meeting back at the Engels house for dinner.
