We arrived at the hotel around 5:30 pm. Jeanne and Kees were going to come over after we got settled. Mom started feeling a little achy and sick this evening. We weren't sure what the plan was, but after our friends arrived we rode over to their house (a few minutes away) for dinner and to visit. The Engels have not changed a bit. We haven't seen them im nearly 30 years. Needless to say, I've changed a little since I was 9 years old!Mom and I had a glass of wine in the lounge at the hotel after returning from dinner. The hotel had a little toy corner, so the boys played with puzzles and trucks. Mom decided to take some pain medication and a bath and head to bed.
The plan for tomorrow was for us to eat breakfast at the hotel and then we'd go back over the Engels house before heading into Groningen for some sightseeing and antique shopping. Their son Erik and grandson Jasper were going to join us on that adventure.
