This evening we finished up our pictures for Sinterklaas. Eliot and Miles put out their shoes, which
Miles promptly absconded to wear around with his backpack. After dinner, we continued our celebration of Intocht Sinterklaas (Sinterklaas' arrival) in Holland. Eliot put his Sinterklaas list out and a
colored picture rolled up between his clogs. He left
some goodies in his clogs for Sinterklaas to enjoy: kruidnoten (a little like gingersnaps), chocolade Kruidnoten (covered in chocolate), and Sint schuimpjes (snoeps, sweets). Lekker (delicious)!
Miles had drawn a picture with stickers. Jim and I left a carrot for de paard van Sinterklaas (Sinterklaas' white horse) and a poem. When everything was set we sang a song (2 times because the first time was pretty pathetic) with help from our Sinterklaas CD:
Zie ginds komt de stoomboot.
