Whitney's Biking Day

I took Eliot to school in the morning. Like most days, I left Miles at home with daddy while I took Eliot. It's easier and certainly better for Miles when the weather is bad. Today is gym class for me and Miles. Jim had to be available at noon for a customer meeting, so I needed to pick up Eliot at noon. Since the weather looked nice, I decided I would bike it. There's not enough time to ride the tram and pick up Eliot on time via the bike or bus.

Miles and I left for gym class around 10. With map in hand, I made it to Ypenburg by 10:25 (at a pretty fast cadence). We had a good time in class - Miles really likes to run and climb and jump. There's a nursery rhyme that we sing sometimes, where we all dance in a circle, bow to the middle, and then fall on our bottoms and kick our feet in the air. Fun stuff!! I have to learn the words. This time Miles and I crawled a race and the rode me as a horse. As soon as class was over at 11:15, we jumped on the bike and booked off by 11:20 to get to Eliot's school on the far southwest side of Delft. Ypenburg is northeast of Delft by 3-4 km. We made it with 5 minutes to spare, but I could barely walk having biked nearly 1.5 hours that morning. I was exhausted and still had 15-minute bike ride with two boys to get home. After showing us his colored fish pictures and a night sky he glued together, Eliot loaded up for our ride home. Jim cooked us lunch when we got back!
