Grandpa and I decided to climb up the Nieuwe Kerk toren today. Miles was game to go along. Eliot did not want to go up - I think the bells at Brugge has turned him off to church towers. So Eliot and Mary did a little grocery shopping and walked around the market, while we started the long haul up. The tower is the second largest in Holland at 108.5 meters. It was 356 steps up. There are three levels to get out and look: 1) above the red brick 2) bottom of the clock, below the black staining and 3) below the steeple, above the black staining
