We arrived in Amsterdam around 11:30 and took tram #9 to the zoo. We enjoyed the big cats, the reptile house, and the monkeys. Then we wandered by the African Savannah and saw the baby zebra still growing into his stripes (check out his knees). These pelicans were asleep but he looked like he was staring at us resting in the sun, near the beautiful crowned cranes. We enjoyed a nice lunch of sandwiches at the restaurant looking at the zebras.

At 2:00, there was a show at the planetarium geared toward young kids, so that's where we went next. The show was about the Dutch Sesame Street characters blasting off into space and trying to find their way home. In Holland, Ernie and Bert are the same, but Big Bird is blue and has a different name. They had other characters I had not heard of and different humans too. The show was pretty cool and we got to see some constellations, the Milky Way, and some planets before Eliot decided it was too dark and we needed to leave.
