After lunch, while waiting for Jim to join us, we walked across the Seine to the Trocadero and Paleis de Chaillot. It was quite a climb, but we were able to stay on paths until the last few sets of stairs. I comically went up the very slippery ramps to get up to the top. Miles had fallen asleep on the walk up. I enjoyed the views while Eliot had a grand time running around the smooth stones on top between the palace buildings. His favorite activity was to run and slide on his knees. The ornamental pool was pretty; the area on each side was filled with huge trees and even a little playground. Jim called around 4:30 and planned to meet us at the base of the Tower "to go up to the top."
