Designed by Gustave Eiffel and built for the Universal Exhibition of 1889 and to commemorate the centennial of the Revolution, the 1063-ft Tour Eiffel was meant to be a temporary addition to the Paris skyline. Can you imagine Paris without it? It is magnificent and immense - one of those things you can stare at forever.

The first level is at 187 ft.
The second level at 376 ft.
The third level is 905 ft above the ground.

The early afternoon was overcast, so the brown tower against the gray sky was a little dull. Yet, it is beautiful. Eliot kept asking when we'd go up to the top. We'd wait for daddy for that adventure.

I took this photo (3 of them overlapping) with the stitch feature of our new camera. Looks like a postcard, huh?
