Today, there was to be a floating parade, Varend Corco, coming through Delft. www.varendcorso.nl Jim was walking around with the boys and found a street party on the Buitenwatersloot happening in anticipation of the parade. I joined them along the parade route to find quite a scene. Lots of people had set up tables selling things; it was like a big garage sale. We bought some crates for storing toys (20 eurocents), a game and puzzle, plus some boots for Eliot. It gave us an idea of what Queen's Day April 30 might be like (where anyone can sell their stuff out on the street). We found some cool beer glasses. There were bands playing; pubs along the street had setup tables outside. The model boat club was operating all kinds of remote-control boats. While we walked around, Miles got a good nap.

People were already staking out their spots along the canal, so we decided to go home and get our blanket, pillows, and food for watching the parade. We found a nice spot with some shade (by the time the parade came through).
