By the time we took a second swim in the waves, ate lunch and then french fries and popsicles, and made our sand castes, the beach had filled up with people and dogs. We started hauling ourselves and some very tired boys back to the car around 2:30. When we arrived, Gina had told me to check out the bike parking when we left - that it would be full. She was not kidding. Look at the sea of bikes. The route to and from the beach was quite lovely. All along the roads, we saw greenhouses. There is so much farming here. There were also these neat flower pots that looked like a mound of flowers 4-ft tall. My favorite was the painted pumpkin sculptures in the center of one traffic circle. Pink, green, blue pumpkins!
I brought home a souvenir from the beach. Jim and I both failed to put sunscreen on our backs (you can see where I couldn't reach). Ouch! Hopefully, it will peel before our vacation coming up.
