Tuesday was play group at Courtney's house. The kids got to play in the backyard and in a sand box. It was nice and cool, so it was a great day to be out. I had a nice time visiting with the other moms and I think the kids enjoyed playing with children that speak English. We had a nice discussion of clutter, lack of time and general housekeeping - all the things moms (and dads) have to worry about! I had to leave a little early to make my hair appointment. Finally, a haircut after too long!
Biking over to Courtney's house, we saw this really cool container barge going through a good-sized bike bridge [Courtney's apartment building is actually in the background behind the barge]. This bridge spins around on a center axis to become parallel with the canal to let the boats pass and then completes the circle to connect to the road. We saw it do this on our way there and our way home. The second time, this barge came through. It's pretty wild to see the road disappear and then come back to you!
