On our way to the produce market, we walked along the Brabantse Turfmarkt. In the canal, we saw a momma duck and her three golden ducklings. They were so cute jumping on and off lily pads and swimming after their mom. They had to paddle so fast when she was moving on to the next spot. Some people came to throw bread into the canal for her. She and the ducklings ate some bread and then then seagulls tried to come in. Momma chased them off to keep them away from her babies. Eliot helped by yelling "go away seagulls and go bother someone else." When the ducks swam past these very large baby coots, the momma and poppa coots tried to chase them off. We saw both parents bringing food to these babies.
Right outside the veggie market, we saw this fancy bicycle built for two. It's like the bike Eliot imagined for Grandma and Grandpa to fly together from Madison to Boulder to visit us in the spring! Monday was a shopping day - pretty normal cycle for us!
