We decided to take the scenic route home north through Ijmuiden and along the Noordzeekanaal (North Sea Canal). Ijmuiden is home to the largest fishing port in Western Europe with lots of factory trawlers in the harbor. We expected to see more boats than we did along the canal; it was late on a Saturday. This orange tanker was outside of Amsterdam. Notice the wind turbines, the orange cranes, and the blue dredger. Along our route we saw this cleverly disguised cell tower (sorry for the picture quality!).
