World Cup Fever - It's all orange here this month. Holland played their 2nd game on Friday night. Before the game, Eliot, Miles and I ventured out in the stroller to see the football enthusiasts. We saw lots of orange wearing people heading into pubs and cafes. Orange feather boas, orange and black cow hats, orange and flag soccer ball top hats, orange jerseys, orange crowns, orange shoes, orange flag wearing fans abound. There are orange flags in front of lots of buildings and plenty of Netherlands flags flying.

This courtyard decoration is pretty typical. A lot of neighborhoods or streets have a common area that is decorated for the tournament. Not everyone is decorated but there are flags across canals and streets and in front of houses. No one is really out when the game is on; it was eerily quiet near the train station. When Holland scored their goals we heard horns blowing and there was a lot of car honking when the game ended. The boys got their Holland shirts this week and were ready for game time! Hup Holland Hup!!! (go Holland go)
