Today is the big day - Aunt Julie arrives in Holland. The boys worked for the last 2 weeks making pictures and other surprises for Aunt Julie (Ju-Ju to Miles). Eliot and Miles arrange them on the bed for her arrival. Eliot, with help from mommy and daddy, worked hard on a book of exploding shapes (hot dog, tulip, trapezoid, Miles scribble). Eliot takes a close up of the sticker picture. He had to add some drawing on it because it "only had mommy's writing and stickers" but nothing of his.

I had hoped to only take Eliot to the train station to pick up Julie, but Miles really wanted to go. So, we all 3 boarded a train about 1:30 bound for Leiden and then a train to Schipol Airport. Julie's flight appeared on time when we left. We brought our umbrellas and coats in case of rain. When we got to the station, her flight arrival kept shifting out at 10 minute intervals, so we got a drink and waited for her plane. Miles fell asleep and took a short nap hanging out on a bench (until I had to move him to take Eliot to the bathroom - bummer). After he woke up, the boys ran around the train area with their umbrellas. Finally, at 3:23 her plane landed and arrival gate 1 was posted.
