On Friday morning we met a family who is fairly new to Delft for coffee on the Markt. Shamim has been in Holland for years on and off. His daughter Kaela, 14 months, is very cute. It was nice connecting with new people. As the kids were playing in the square, the Nieuwe Kerk began playing some nice nuptual music (I can't remember the name of the piece). Sure enough, about 5 minutes after the music started, guests started pouring out of the Stadhuis, cars decorated with flowers pulled up, and the bride and groom emerged from the town hall. They took pictures with their guests before heading off in their decorated cars. I didn't bring my camera - unusual, I know - so I don't have pictures!

As the kids got ancy, Shamim and I walked down the street to a small playground. The kids slid and played in the sand and then we headed back toward the square. The boys and I went to the grocery store, the produce market, and the bakery, before heading home for lunch.

After dinner, Jim, the boys, and I biked to return our movies and to a grocery store to get fixings for traditional buttermilk pancakes. Then we moved on to the ice cream shop for a tasty treat. The boys each ate a cone of two scoops: straciatella (chocolate chip) and strawberry. Yummy!
