Today, we finally made it over to the Oostpoort, which is the only remaining city gate from the original wall. It was built around 1400 and the towers were added around 1510. The gate was bustling with people and bikes. Miles and Eliot pose on the right (lower right corner).

We visited the Botanische Tuin (botanical garden) at TU (technical university) Delft. It was a nice walk and there were lots of plants to see. The labels were in Dutch, so we just had to guess at most things. This conifer was like a Dr Suess tree. The boys were acting silly by an iris garden with wild irises.

After a nice lunch at home, we went to the Museum Paul Tetar van Elven. This canal house has rooms authentic to the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. They also had examples of Delft earthenware and porcelain from the 18th and 19th centuries. Jim joined us on the Markt and we ate at a traditional pannekoeken (pancake) restaurant for dinner.
