Irises on a Delft sidewalk; Old Church reflected in the Oude Delft canal
These are some pictures we've taken wandering around Delft. Thursday is market day and the Markt is filled with a hundred booths selling all kinds of goods - socks, cheese, cloth/fabric, candy (the Dutch must like black licorice), flowers, vegetables, fruit, and clothes. We went to the Bakery to get our favorite bread: Waldkorn. We ventured into the chocolate store, Leonidas, to get Jim a late anniversary present. Nothing like that strong smell of cocoa and dark chocolate! I have fallen back in love with the Dutch spice cookie (like the Biscoff cookies that American Airlines used to give out). I can eat 10 in one sitting. YUM!
Bicycles outside the train station (our building has gold shutters in the background on the left); Old Ford decorated with flowers (for a bride?)
