Laurents explains the changes to come for the train station.
The landscape out our front window will change drastically in the next 8 years. The train station will be converted into housing and a new station being built down the way. They are going to put a tunnel through the center of Delft for the trains, so the new station will be underground. All the buildings we see will be torn down for building the tunnel; then the land will be rebuilt once the tunnel is done and the old tracks disappear. It seems to be a pretty monumental task that will cost 1+ billion euros. There is some controversy because Delft's real issue is that it needs 2 sets of tracks so that more trains can get through; however they don't have the budget to build a 4-track tunnel. The city may pay to build a 4-track station, just in case.
